Though Johnny Depp and Amber Heard finalized their divorce in 2017, the drama between them refuses to die. In March 2019, Johnny filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife over a Dec. 2018 op-ed in the ‘Washington Post.’ Amber wrote how she was a firsthand witness to ‘domestic abuse,’ to which Johnny – through these documents – claimed it was Amber who was the abusive one.
Johnny, in the first twelve pages of the documents, accused Amber of manufacturing the claims to ‘advance her career.’ The documents also accuse Amber of shattering the bones in his figure in a 2016 incident, while also accusing her of assaulting him after her 30th birthday. Johnny is seeking $50 million in damages, and Amber’s lawyers have dismissed this lawsuit as a ‘frivolous action’ aimed at silencing her.

The actor took issue with Amber’s December 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post, as she claimed she ‘had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse…’I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath.
